THE BEGINNING.

My love of being physically active outdoors and a natural caregiving spirit led me to pursue a career in Physiotherapy.

I grew up in a family where outdoor activities- mainly hiking and skiing- were part of regular family life.

Maintaining physical activity across the lifespan is very important to me, and I hope to help you with that goal, too!

MY JOURNEY AS A PHYSIO.

My physiotherapy career has taken me across Canada. I graduated from Queen’s University with a degree in Physical Therapy in 2004.

My first job was in a remote northern Ontario hospital as the sole therapist. I worked with in-patients and out-patients, did home visits, and cared for clients with both chronic and acute illnesses.

Next, the mountains were calling - to British Columbia to the ski town of Revelstoke. There, I gained valuable experience treating skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, traumatic injuries, complicated fractures and many post-operative conditions.

I'M HERE FOR YOU!

It was in Revelstoke, while backcountry skiing, that I ruptured my ACL, and went through knee surgery and the post-operative rehabilitative process myself.

It surprised me to discover how much I struggled to heal and get back on skis. My expectations of myself were high, and so was my disappointment when I didn’t gain back range of motion as easily and quickly as I thought I could, given my professional knowledge.

As a result of experiencing ACL injury and rehabilitation myself, I approach my clients with more compassion and understanding.

Everybody heals differently, and requires a personal approach and plan for optimal management. I’m in your corner!
